July/August tends to be my absolute crazy time for weddings and seniors, but I was lucky enough to slow down and take a breather on the beach with these lovely folks.
Stacy leads a wedding photography collective that I recently started shooting for, so when she contacted me about family portraits you can imagine that my heart hit the clouds while my stomach hit the floor. I've never photographed another photographer as a client before, let alone one that has been in the business for over 10 years! But Stacey's warm heart and her whole family's openness for anything lent itself to some basically flawless images up on the North Shore. The girls ran around Split Rock Lighthouse, threw rocks in the lake, all while Stacey and Mitch laughed about how hard it is to be a client rather than photographer, and how preparing yourself for family photos never goes as smooth as planned.
I'll tell you what though: you'd never know it was a slight struggle. Cheers to this adventurous family with their rock climbing and flower picking daughters, and much love for this stage in their life.
